First SILMO Bangkok to be held at IMPACT

Bangkok, 2nd June: The inaugural edition of SILMO Bangkok, an optical and eyewear exhibition targeting the ASEAN region, will be held at IMPACT Exhibition & Convention Center running from 20th to 22nd June 2018.

 

SILMO Bangkok will be organised by IMPACT Exhibition Management Company and it is expected that approximately 250 brands to be showcased at the show. Organiser is also expecting more than 4,000 trade visitors during the three-day event. The theme of the exhibition will be “Business Meets Fashion”. The show will feature new collections and the latest optical technologies and solutions for the industry in ASEAN region.

IBTM announces two new appointments

China/U.K., 4th June: Recently, IBTM, part of Reed Travel Exhibitions, announced two new appointments. Shane Hannam will become the portfolio director and Nicole Ci will be the event manager for IBTM China.

 

Hannam has over 16 years’ experience in the international events industry. He officially assumed this new role on 1st June 2018. Previously, he was sales director – key accounts for Reed Travel Exhibitions.

 

Ci has eight years’ experience in the events industry in China. Recently, she was project manager for the China Children’s Book Fair where she was responsible for both the B2B and B2C elements of the show.

Competing yacht shows in Singapore and Thailand to collaborate

Singapore & Thailand, 25th May: Verventia Pte Limited, the owner of the Singapore and Thailand Yacht Shows, and Asia RendezVous Pte Limited, organiser of the Phuket, Penang and Singapore RendezVous events, announced this week that the two companies had agreed to collaborate and to produce only one yacht show in Thailand and one show Singapore.

CHINAPLAS 2018 attracts 180,000+ visitors

Shanghai, 17th May: Chinaplas 2018, the leading international trade show serving the plastics and rubber industry, concluded its recent edition in Shanghai in late April. The organiser reports that this year’s edition attracted nearly 181,000 professional trade visitors. That figure represents an increase of 22% over the previous edition held in Shanghai in 2016.
