NürnbergMesse and Messe Berlin launch new events in Mumbai

Nuremberg/Berlin/Mumbai, 1st September: Two international exhibition organisers, NürnbergMesse Group and Messe Berlin, announced to enter into a strategic partnership for the Indian market, by launching new food industry trade fairs, to create business opportunities for India’s fresh produce and organic food industries.

The new events, BIOFACH INDIA and FRUIT LOGISTICA Connect India, will be held from 25th to 27th May 2028, at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai. The two events will provide exhibitors and buyers with access to complementary business communities and an expanded international network. BIOFACH INDIA will be under the BIOFACH exhibition network, targeting as India’s leading trade fair for the organic industry. Through FRUIT LOGISTICA Connect India, Messe Berlin will bring its globally recognized brands for the international fresh produce trade to India.

DLG drops in revenues and profit in first half

Shanghai, 27th August: Last month, DLG Exhibitions & Events (formerly Shanghai Lansheng Corporation) reported its financial results for the six months ended 30th June 2026. Revenues in the first half of the year were US$78.9 million, representing a year-on-year decrease of 3.1%.

The company’s net profit dropped 69% year-on-year, down to US$2.5 million in the first half of 2026. The decrease was due to the reduced scale of certain exhibitions and a decline in exhibition venue business. Diluted earnings per share in the first half of the year were RMB 0.02 (US$0.0029).

In the reported period, the company hosted or co-hosted 12 exhibitions, featuring an exhibition area of 635,700 m2, with 9,319 exhibitors and 856,200 professional visitors. Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center, the venue operated by DLG, hosted 39 exhibitions and events, with a total rental area of 3.21 million m2, welcoming 7,349 exhibitors and 544,000 visitors.

Sino Splendid’s revenues up 6.4%

Hong Kong, 31st August: Last week, Hong Kong-listed company Sino Splendid (formerly China.com) released its results for the six months ended 30th June 2026. Revenues during the period were US$2.6 million, representing a year-on-year increase of 6.4%. The company attributed the increase to the increase in revenues from the Travel Media business and Financial Magazine and Other Media Business.

However, the company’s net profit dropped 4.5% year-on-year, amounting at US$309,000 in the first half of 2026. Diluted earnings per share in the six-month period were HK$0.0119 (US$0.0015).

Majority of Sino Splendid’s revenues were generated from the Financial Magazine and Other Media Business, amounting at US$2.5 million, which posted an increase of 10% over last year. The remaining revenues were generated from its Travel Media segment (US$70,000) and the Money Lending segment (US$53,000). While the Securities Investment segment recorded a loss of US$51,000. The Travel Media business jumped 57% year-on-year.

In the future, the company will seek opportunities to expand its customer base and its market share and undertake more projects, to improve the company’s operation efficiency and profitability of the business.

Messe Muenchen India and dmg events announce partnership

India, 3rd September: Messe München’s Indian subsidiary, Messe Muenchen India, announced partnership with dmg events, to launch AiX DataWorld 2027, which will be a dedicated conference and platform with two editions in Mumbai and Chennai for India’s data centre industry.

Mumbai edition will be held first, and followed by the Chennai edition, under the tagline of “The Infrastructure of Intelligence”. The event will serve developers, financiers, operators, technology providers and enterprise customers, with growing computing and storage needs.

The new event will consist of an industry exhibition, strategic conference, curated meetings and networking programmes. The exhibition will showcase solutions across data centre development, power and cooling systems, connectivity, engineering and construction, AI computing infrastructure, cybersecurity and renewable energy, with targeted exhibitors include developers, operators, equipment manufacturers, engineering firms, connectivity providers, software companies, energy suppliers, security specialists, investors and consultants. While the conference will focus on key commercial, technical and policy issues shaping India’s data centre growth.

550 exhibitors at VIV Select China 2026

VIV Select China 2026, organised by Globus Events and VNU Europe, concluded on 21st August 2026, at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center (SWEECC). The three-day event posted a new scale record, with 50,000 m2 of exhibition area, drawing 550 exhibitors from 20 countries and regions. Some 20,300 professional visitor attendance from 113 countries and regions joined the event. The next edition of VIV Select China will be held from 17th to 19th August 2027.

Medical Fair China 2026 concludes with 17,000+ visitors

Organised by Messe Düsseldorf (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., Medical Fair China (MFC) 2026 was held from 20th to 22nd August 2026, at Suzhou International Expo Center. With the theme of “From Innovation to Application: Driving Medical Transformation and Global Expansion”, the event gathered medical device companies, healthcare institutions, research organisations, industry associations and professionals from China and abroad. About 320 medical device companies and innovative organisations showcased at the event, attracting 17,486 professional visitors, healthcare representatives, experts, academics and industry professionals. The next MFC will return to Suzhou International Expo Center, running from 19th to 21st August 2027.

HKTDC concludes CENTRESTAGE and Watch & Clock Fair

Earlier this week, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) concluded its CENTRESTAGE, Asia’s annual premier fashion event featuring over 12,000 trade buyers from 93 countries and regions, and over 20,000 public visitors. The Hong Kong Watch & Clock Fair and the Salon de TIME were also concluded, attracting over 17,000 trade buyers from 115 countries and regions to source watch and clock products.
