225,000+ buyers at HKTDC April fairs

Hong Kong, 10th May: Last month, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) held seven fairs, which attracted more than 225,000 buyers from 165 countries and regions. About 58% (or 130,000) of those were from outside Hong Kong – with Mainland China representing the largest number of buyers.

According to the HKTDC, buyers from Mainland China were up by 9% and Japan grew about 15%. Attendance from some Belt and Road countries saw strong growth as well. According to the Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB), per capita spending of overnight MICE visitors amounted to HK$7,700 (US$990), which resulted in HK$1.14 billion (US$146 million) in business travel income at the seven fairs.
