400 exhibitors at Cloud Expo in Singapore

Singapore, 8th October: The 7th edition of Cloud Expo Asia was held on 9th and 10th October at Marina Bay Sands and it showcased some 400 global exhibitors.

The organiser, CloserStill Media, expected the event to draw some 18,000 senior decision-makers from across the Asia Pacific region. Exhibitors offered products and services covering cloud computing, cyber security, big data, data centres, e-commerce and digital marketing.

Messe Frankfurt to launch Interpets Aichi in 2020

Aichi, 26th September: International exhibition organiser, Messe Frankfurt, will launch a new pet fair in Aichi, Japan. The show, Interpets Aichi, will be held at the recently opened venue, Aichi Sky Expo from 21st to 22nd November 2020.

The new show is a sister event of Interpets Asia Pacific which is held in Tokyo and showcases pet-related products and covering the housing, interior design, fashion, IT, automobiles, tourism and leisure pet segments. According to the organiser, products will be presented in specific zones including food, fashion & accessories, living, interior & pet products, outdoor & leisure and beauty, health-care & nursing-care.

Inaugural Travel Tech Asia comes to Singapore next year

Singapore, 10th October: Messe Berlin (Singapore) announced plans to launch Travel Tech Asia in 2020. The event will be co-located with ITB Asia 2020 and MICE Show Asia 2020 all held under ITB Asia’s umbrella of events.

The conference will take place from 21st to 23rd October 2020 at the Sands Expo & Convention Centre at Marina Bay Sands targeting key visitors such as senior managers involved in distribution, sales and marketing, e-commerce and IT from segments including hotels, travel agencies, airlines, tours and leisure activities.

The exhibition will feature AI, booking systems, reservations and metasearch services, hotel technology, virtual reality and augmented reality, voice and biometric solutions, mobile marketing, revenue management and optimisation solutions, etc. The event also features an industry conference.

NOVA Group records 127% jump in revenues

Hong Kong, 27th September: Last week, Hong Kong-based exhibition and event organiser, NOVA Group (formerly known as Mega Expo), announced its financial results for the year ended 30th June 2019. The company reported total revenues of US$74 million, representing an increase of 127% over the previous year. The company posted a net profit of US$14 million, representing a year-on-year increase of 18%.

450+ brands at Medtec China 2019

Shanghai, 26th September: London-based Informa Markets opened its Medtec China 2019 on 25th September bringing more than 450 brands to the show, which was held at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center. In its 15th edition, Medtec China 2019 ran until 27th September. It attracted more than 25,000 professional visitors will attend the three-day show.

AEG Facilities and SMG officially combine to create ASM Global

Los Angeles & West Conshohocken, 1st October: AEG Facilities, LLC, the venue management affiliate of Anschutz Entertainment Group, Inc., and SMG, a portfolio company of Onex, formally completed the combination of their businesses. The two organisations will create a new, standalone global facility management and venue services company, ASM Global.

18,000 buyers attend HKTDC’s Watch & Clock Fair

Hong Kong, 7th September: The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) concluded its 38th edition of the Hong Kong Watch & Clock Fair and the seventh edition of the Salon de TE last week. Despite the recent political unrest in Hong Kong, the event welcomed close to 18,000 buyers from 104 countries and regions.

Jointly organised by the HKTDC, the Hong Kong Watch Manufacturers Association Ltd and The Federation of Hong Kong Watch Trades and Industries Ltd, the co-located fairs ran from 3rd to 7th September at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC). According to the HKTDC, “satisfactory growth” was recorded in terms of buyer attendance from emerging markets including Brazil, Poland, Russia, Ukraine and Vietnam.

NECC Shanghai to add exhibition space

Shanghai, 18th September: National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) (NECC), currently one of Asia’s largest exhibition venues, announced that the venue will add at least 60,000 m2 of new exhibition capacity. This expansion project will bring the venue’s total capacity to more than 464,000 m2 of gross indoor space.

NECC will add two single-storey pavilions. In addition, the venue will invest in new high-quality hardware and software throughout the venue – after the completion of the expansion.
