Baidu’s revenues up, profit down in Q2

Beijing, 19th August: Earlier this week, Baidu, the leading Chinese language Internet search provider, released its financial results for the quarter ended 30th June 2019. Revenues in the quarter were US$3.8 billion, a moderate increase of 1.4% year-on-year. However, excluding revenues from its divested businesses, Global DU and Du Xiaoman, the revenue increase was 6.0%. Net income in the quarter dropped 62% compared with the second quarter of 2018, down to US$351 million.

HKCEC posts record attendance in FY2018/19

Hong Kong, 16th August: In its previous financial year running from July 2018 to June 2019, the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) announced that it hosted a total of 1,000 events, including 119 exhibitions, 159 conferences and hundreds of corporate meetings, banquets and entertainment events. The venue welcomed a record 8.5+ million visitors during the year, including exhibitors, trade buyers, conference and meeting delegates, other event visitors, banquet guests and restaurant customers.

Informa prepares for massive September jewellery fair in Hong Kong

Hong Kong, 12th August: The September Hong Kong Jewellery & Gem Fair (September Fair) will take place at AWE and the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC). Products to be showcased at AWE will include loose gems of diamonds, gemstones and pearls, running from 16th to 20th September, featuring over 1,700 exhibitors. While the show at HKCEC will run from 18th to 22nd September, showcasing more than 2,000 exhibitors of finished jewellery products, packaging, tools and equipment.
