Sri Lanka, 6th June: Later this year, Sri Lanka will launch a new B2B exhibition addressing the garment and textile machinery segment. The event, InMac, aims to cover the South Asian textile and apparel manufacturing industry by bringing exhibitors from around the region.

Wuhan, 1st June: The inaugural edition of Industrial Automation and Robotics Show Wuhan (IARS 2018) is expected to feature some 300 exhibitors. It runs from 5th to 8th June 2018 at the Wuhan International Expo Center.

Bangkok, 6th June: Earlier this week, Pico Thailand, the Thai-listed subsidiary of Pico Far East Holdings, released its results for the quarter ended 30th April 2018. Revenues in the quarter were US$14 million, a year-on-year increase of 26%. Meanwhile, the company posted a drop of 33% in net profit, down to US$411,000.

Hong Kong, 31st May: Last week, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) signed a cooperation agreement with Veronafiere S.p.A. to bring wineries from Italy to Hong King to exhibit at the Hong Kong International Wine & Spirits Fair.

Mumbai, 6th June: Recently, UBM India has concluded the 6th edition of its Concrete Show India 2018 at the Bombay Convention and Exhibition Centre (BCEC) in Mumbai. According to the organiser, the event recorded over 30% growth in visitor numbers.

Bangkok, 6th June: The first co-located Asian Paper & Tissue World Bangkok opened on 6th June, at Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre (BITEC), showcasing over 100 exhibiting companies from 18 countries, with their latest technologies and solutions serving the pulp, paper, tissue, packaging industries.

Singapore & Thailand, 25th May: Verventia Pte Limited, the owner of the Singapore and Thailand Yacht Shows, and Asia RendezVous Pte Limited, organiser of the Phuket, Penang and Singapore RendezVous events, announced this week that the two companies had agreed to collaborate and to produce only one yacht show in Thailand and one show Singapore.

Macau, 30th May: Earlier this week, Macau’s Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) released its MICE statistics for the first quarter of 2018. A total of 328 MICE events were held in Macau in the quarter, representing a decrease of 38 events compared with the same quarter last year.

Shanghai, 17th May: Chinaplas 2018, the leading international trade show serving the plastics and rubber industry, concluded its recent edition in Shanghai in late April. The organiser reports that this year’s edition attracted nearly 181,000 professional trade visitors. That figure represents an increase of 22% over the previous edition held in Shanghai in 2016.

India, 24th May: UBM India opened its Concrete Show India 2018 on 24th May at the Bombay Convention and Exhibition Centre (BCEC) in Mumbai. The event concluded on 26th May.

China, 29th May: China’s largest e-commerce company, Alibaba Group and its subsidiary unit, Cainiao, have announced that they have agreed to acquire a 10% stake in ZTO Express, a Chinese express delivery company, for approximately US$1.38 billion.

Seoul, 30th May: The Seoul Tourism Organization (STO) has appointed Jae-sung Rhee, as its President and CEO for a three-year term. Former Executive Vice President of the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO), Rhee joined STO on 23rd April 2018. He worked at KTO for 33 years and has served in the position of director in every department at KTO.

Bangkok, 22nd May: Earlier this month, international exhibition organiser, the Tarsus Group, held the inaugural edition of its Labelexpo Southeast Asia. The exhibition attracted nearly 8,000 trade visitors from 62 countries.

Shanghai, 18th May: The eighth edition of transport logistic China concluded in Shanghai last week attracting 667 exhibitors and more than 26,000 trade visitors to the three-day show.

Beijing, 21st May: Baidu, Inc., the leading Chinese language Internet search provider, announced the company has entered into an agreement with unnamed investors to sell its stake in the Global DU business, which provides ad and tools apps.

Shanghai, 22nd May: International event organiser, Comexposium, recently appointed a new CEO for the Asia Pacific region. Elaine Chia will officially take on the role of CEO on 16th July 2018. She is replacing Paul Lee, who will officially leave the company at the end of May.

Hong Kong, 9th May: Earlier this month, Hong Kong-listed Sino Splendid (formerly China.com) announced its results for the quarter ended 31st March 2018. The company reported total revenues of US$2.0 million in the quarter, down 12% compared with the first quarter of 2017. Sino Splendid recorded a net loss of US$1.1 million in the quarter compared with a loss of US$773,000 in 2017.

Beijing, 9th May: CCID Consulting, a Hong Kong-listed Chinese media group, has announced its results for the quarter ended 31st March 2018. Revenues in the period were US$3.8 million, representing a 28% increase compared with the same quarter in 2017. The company posted a net loss of US$373,000 in the quarter, compared with a loss of US$522,000 recorded last year.
