Macau, 30th May: Earlier this week, Macau’s Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) released its MICE statistics for the first quarter of 2018. A total of 328 MICE events were held in Macau in the quarter, representing a decrease of 38 events compared with the same quarter last year.

However, the total number of participants and attendees increased by 25% year-on-year reaching 278,000 participants at MICE events in the quarter. Ten exhibitions were held in Macau in the quarter and they attracted 193,000 attendees compared with seven exhibitions with 163,000 attendees in the first quarter in 2017. The average size of these exhibitions grew by 65% in the quarter reaching 23,000 m2.
