Hong Kong, 11th October: Earlier this week, Hong Kong’s Chief Executive, Carrie Lam, delivered her first policy address in which she announced plans for a new exhibition venue to be built near the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) in the Wan Chai district on Hong Kong Island.
According to Lam, the government will demolish three government buildings across the road from HKCEC. The three government-owned buildings are: Revenue Tower, Immigration Tower and Wanchai Tower. On that site, the government plans to build a new venue with exhibition space of at least 23,000 m2. The site will also feature hotels, commercial and retail space.
