TCEB launches new Chinese market initiative

Thailand, 8th July: Recently, the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) launched a new initiative to strengthen Thai-Sino business ties.

The new initiative, “360 Degree Exhibition Success,” was announced at TCEB’s China Business Forum 2019 in Beijing. Through opportunities stemming from Thailand’s 4.0 Economic Transformation policies, Chinese business partners can now better develop their business in Thailand.

“360 Degree Exhibition Success” features three key elements: 1) the “Bidding Fund Programme” helps organisers launch international exhibitions in Thailand by providing on-the-ground market support and access to local industries; 2) “Exhibiz in Market” gives national pavilion leaders priority access to exhibitions in Thailand; and 3) “ASEAN+6 Privilege” assists business missions in bringing trade visitors from ASEAN+6 countries to Thailand for business meetings during Thai exhibitions.

According to media reports, Chinese MICE travellers to Thailand grew 40% in 2018 making China Thailand’s top source market for the fifth consecutive year. China is also Thailand’s top source market in the exhibitions sector, growing from 16,000 participants in 2013, to 46,000 participants in 2018 – up 187% in that five-year period.
