HKTDC celebrates 30th edition of the Hong Kong Book Fair

Hong Kong, 25th June: The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) will open the 30th edition of its Hong Kong Book Fair next month, featuring a record number of exhibitors - more than 680 exhibitors from 39 countries and territories.

Running from 17th to 23rd July at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC), the Book Fair will host some 310 cultural events during the event. This year’s theme is “Sci-Fi and Mystery.” The fair will feature leading local science fiction and mystery authors sharing their work with attendees.

Benjamin Chau, HKTDC Deputy Executive Director, stated, “The Hong Kong Book Fair Cultural Events Advisory Panel selected Sci-Fi and Mystery as the theme of the year for the Book Fair, with the tagline ‘Reading the World • When Fantasy Meets Reality’. We encourage readers to explore the always-fascinating literary genres of sci-fi and mystery, immersing themselves in the captivating plots and finding joy through the written word. We hope these literary works will arouse people’s curiosity and inspire them to enrich their lives by venturing into the unknown.”

The Hong Kong Sports and Leisure Expo will run concurrently with the Book Fair. In its third edition, more than 140 exhibitors will showcase sports and leisure products and services from over 160 brands. Ten themed zones will be featured at the event including: a Japan Pavilion, Board Games, Fun & Play, Photography World, Outdoor Adventure, Sports Hub, Health & Fitness, Handicraft Market, as well as the new STEM World and Taiwan Pavilion.
