Paris, 25th June: This week, three international meetings industry associations agreed to launch a global alliance. The associations are AIPC (The International Association of Convention Centres), ICCA (The International Congress and Convention Association), and UFI (The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry).
Under the terms of the agreement, the three associations will facilitate collaboration and generate more comprehensive and deeper benefits for their members. The alliance will begin with a program of exploring exchange and reciprocity in four key areas: educational content, research, standards and advocacy.
According to media reports, the associations will also engage in educational exchanges and start to align approaches taken in areas of common practice. They will also initiate a regular exchange between their respective leadership to align interests on key issues.
AIPC, serving convention centre managers, represents more than 185 leading centres in 60 countries. ICCA serves the world’s leading suppliers in international meetings and events and it comprises over 1,110 member companies and organisations in about 100 countries. UFI is the global association of the exhibition industry. UFI’s members include large exhibition organisers and venues as well as the major national and international exhibition associations and selected partners of the exhibition industry. UFI serves some 800-member organisations in about 90 countries and regions.
