Macau, 27th May: Earlier this week, the Macau’s Statistics and Census Service (DSEC) released its MICE statistics for the first quarter of 2019. A total of 377 MICE events were held in Macau in the quarter. That is an increase of 49 events compared with the same quarter last year. The total number of participants increased 20% year-on-year, reaching 333,000 in the quarter.
According to DSEC, a total of 362 meetings and conferences were held during the quarter, which rose by 48 events compared with last year. 84,000 participants attended these meetings and conferences, a year-on-year increase of 18%.
Ten exhibitions were held in Macau in the quarter, which is same number as the first quarter last year. The number of attendees grew by 22% to 235,000 in the quarter. The average exhibition size was 31,000 m2, representing a growth of 32% year-on-year.
