Hong Kong, 7th January: Hong Kong Fashion Week will open later this month celebrating its 50th edition. Hong Kong Fashion Week for Fall/Winter 2019 will run from 14th to 17th January at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC).
Established in 1968, Fashion Week is held bi-annually. There is a Fall/Winter edition and the Spring/Summer edition held in July. It has grown to become the region’s largest fashion-sourcing platform.
To complement the event, several years ago, the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) also launched an online networking platform to run alongside the event. FASHIONALLY.com targets young, upcoming fashion designers. There is also a Small-Order Zone for small quantity sourcing buyers.
Benjamin Chau, deputy executive director, HKTDC, stated, “To optimise visitors’ experience, we have continuously injected new elements such as introducing new product zones and events, and providing market updates… This year, the HKTDC trade fair websites were revamped into a series of industry-sourcing portals, known as ‘Exhibition Online’, which allows buyers to continue their sourcing journey after visiting the physical fairs, offering them a greater range of products and services through engaging non-exhibiting suppliers.”
