Northstar Travel Group acquires HotelsWorld

Sydney, 21st December: Last month, Northstar Travel Group announced the company acquired HotelsWorld, a leading series of hotel industry events targeting senior hotel executives in Australia & New Zealand. The events were acquired from Hotels World Australia Pty Limited which was founded and owned by John Smith. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

HotelsWorld, held in July in Sydney, comprises four consecutive events over three days and it features over 100 speakers and attracts some 500 industry CEOs and senior executives involved in the operations and ownership of hotels, resorts, and serviced apartments across the region. The next edition of HotelsWorld will be held from 24th to 26th July 2018.

After the acquisition, HotelsWorld will be part of Northstar’s Burba Hotel Network (BHN), an organiser of hotel investment conferences. John Smith will stay on with HotelsWorld under Northstar’s ownership.

Tom Kemp, chairman and CEO of Northstar Travel Group, stated, “We believe that the addition of HotelsWorld to BHN’s portfolio of global hotel investment conferences is an important step in building out the global leadership of BHN within the hotel investment industry. The underlying growth of the Australian and New Zealand hotel, travel and tourism business is a strong driver in making this strategic investment.”
