Kuala Lumpur, 5th December: After a soft opening in August, the new Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) has announced that it has secured several large-scale trade fairs in the first half of 2018.
MITEC will also host the welcome reception of the UFI Asia Pacific Conference on 1st and 2nd March. Delegates can also join a full tour of the new venue during the UFI Conference. Full programme details are online and registration is now open.
Some of the events to be held at MITEC include the MITA Travel Fair 2018 in January at which organisers are expecting 10,000 attendees; followed by UBM Asia’s Malaysian International Furniture Fair (MIFF) in March which is expected to attract some 15,000 visitors. In April, the Malaysia International Halal Fair (MIHAS) and Defense Service Asia (DSA) will be held at the venue with about 20,000 visitors each.
MITEC offers more than 45,000 m2 of gross exhibition space across nine large halls, two medium-sized exhibition halls and one multipurpose hall. MITEC also features 10 meetings rooms, VIP suites, a lounge, as well as media and press facilities. The venue is managed and operated by Prisma Galeri, a subsidiary of Naza Corporation Holdings and it is owned by the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE).
Gunther Beissel, MITEC’s CEO, stated, “(Business) events have become a lot leaner and very much budget and ROI focused, and we need to be even more creative by providing innovative products and services. Fortunately for MITEC, Malaysia’s unique selling propositions such as value-for-money, direct air access from most major cities around the world, a safe and stable political climate, and established industry supply chain among others help boost our attractiveness for the regional and international marketplace.”
