Chengdu, 11th September: Organised by Hannover Milano Fairs Shanghai, the Chengdu Motor Show (CDMS) 2017 concluded at the Chengdu City New International Convention and Exhibition Center on 3rd September. According to the organiser, CDMS featured some 116 auto brands.
Celebrating its 20th anniversary, the CDMS 2017 ran from 25th August to 3rd September. The ten-day show reportedly attracted more than 638,000 “visits.” The 116 auto brands showcased 1,390 vehicles and 82 newly launched models. Occupying an exhibition area of 150,000 m2, the show is positioned as a platform to access the auto market in western China.
According to Hannover, auto manufacturing is one of the five major industries that the Chengdu government is focused on supporting. In July 2017, more than 4.32 million households in Chengdu owned at least one car – making the city one of the largest auto markets in western China.
