Macau, 7th July: The 5th Macao International Travel (Industry) Expo (MITE) concluded earlier this month at the Venetian Macao. The event ran from the 7th to the 9th July and it featured over 300 travel and tourism-related companies from 45 countries and regions.
MITE is organised by the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) with coordination from the Macau Travel Agency Association and it is also supported by the China National Tourism Administration (CNTA). During the three-day event, the exhibitors occupied 473 booths, covering an exhibition area of approximately 10,000 m2. Overall, MITE reportedly attracted more than 36,000 visitors.
The six exhibition zones at this year’s event included: China’s Maritime Silk Road Exhibition Zone, Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, The Tourism Commodity Fair, China – Portugal Tourism Seminar & Networking, Macao Street Exhibition Zone, and Nostalgic Creative Zone. These zones reflected the key areas of the Macau government’s tourism policy.
According to MGTO, the 6th edition of MITE is scheduled in April 2018 as the organiser aims to tap into the promotional period in the lead-up to the peak summer season.
