AIPC appoints Aloysius Arlando as new president

Asia, 7th July: The International Association of Convention Centres (AIPC) recently held its annual general assembly at ICC Sydney. At that time, the association announced the appointment of its new president, Aloysius Arlando, Chief Executive of SingEx Holdings. Arlando will succeed Geoff Donaghy, who steps down after a four-year term as president.

AIPC represents a global network of more than 180 of the world’s leading convention centres in 59 countries – with a particularly strong presence in Europe. AIPC also appointed new directors to its board including: David Pegler, Chief Executive of ExCeL London and Peter King, CEO of Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC).

Arlando stated, “Europe is a very strong base for AIPC and provides a wellspring of innovation and best practice, which can be applied in other regions. However knowledge sharing is a two-way street and as centres in Asia adapt, new innovations will surface and these can then be shared with members in Europe and the U.S.”
