Kuala Lumpur, 4th July: Construction on the Sabah International Convention Centre is expected to be completed by the end of 2018 and the venue is scheduled to be in operation by January 2019.
The new centre is being developed by the Yayasan Sabah Group. It features a site area of 92,000 m2. The Sabah International Convention Centre will be a five-storey building with a column-free convention hall of 5,200 m2 and will also feature a performing arts hall with permanent seating for 1,200 people. Other facilities at the venue include an open plaza area, an indoor food court and extensive parking.
The venue will be located in the Kota Kinabalu Central Business District which is five minutes drive from the city centre and 20 minutes drive from the Kota Kinabalu International Airport.
