Bangkok, 12th June: Billed as ASEAN’s largest food and beverage trade show, THAIFEX-World of Asia 2017, concluded recently after hitting a record number of attendees. Running from 31st May to 4th June at IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center in Bangkok, the five-day show attracted more than 55,000 visitors from 130 countries, a 30% increase over last year’s event.
Now in its 14th edition, THAIFEX-World of Asia 2017 was jointly organised by Koelnmesse, the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), and the Thai Chamber of Commerce (TCC). The show occupied nine halls at IMPACT, covering an exhibition area of 93,000 m2 – 15% more than last year.
More than 2,000 exhibitors participated in the show, featuring the latest food producing technologies, food safety standards, related businesses and services. The number of international exhibitors grew by 14% at this edition. Among the 55,111 visitors, 43,129 were Thai visitors, while 11,982 were from overseas.
Mathias Kuepper, Managing Director, Koelnmesse, commented, “The record-breaking number of visitors is testament to the fact that the F&B industry continues to see the trade show as the place to be. This year’s show proved to be more than just a platform for networking between buyers and exhibitors, but also an avenue for everyone to collaborate, share thoughts, and exchange knowledge about issues facing the industry.”
The next edition of THAIFEX-World of Asia will be held from 29th May to 2nd June 2018 in the same venue, IMPACT.
