Paris/Worldwide, 8th June: The second Global Exhibition Day (GED) was held on 7th June 2017. The objective of the day is to highlight the role of exhibitions and events as economic growth drivers. Under the theme of “Think Global – Act Local”, this year’s GED focused on the people and jobs created by the exhibition industry.
According to UFI, the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, activities were held in 75 countries and regions. A total of 41 GED partner associations united behind this joint advocacy campaign. Offline and online were held on GED to promote exhibitions as a business platform as well as a source of career and business development opportunities.
Kai Hattendorf, UFI MD/CEO, commented, “I am especially thrilled by the mix of senior industry leaders and young professionals who took part in GED events everywhere. The wide variety of activities really shows the creativity and the energy this industry has to offer. And the fact that exhibition and event professionals from all around the world have come together to promote our industry as a whole, clearly shows what we as an industry can achieve together.”
The 2018 edition of GED will be held on 6th June 2018.
