Shanghai, 18th April: Positioned as one of China’s largest, high-end hospitality and catering events, HOTELEX Shanghai 2017, attracted some 143,500 professional visitors during the four-day show, which ran from 28th to 31st March, at Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC). That represents a 23% year-on-year increase.
Now in its 26th edition, HOTELEX Shanghai 2017 covered a total area of 220,000 m2 – including indoor and outdoor areas. Co-organised by the China Tourist Hotels Association (CTHA) and UBM Sinoexpo Limited, a total of 2,352 brands exhibited at the show. Major theme pavilions included catering equipment, hospitality supplies, tableware, textile, appliance & amenities, fitness & leisure, coffee & tea, bakery & ice cream, food & beverage, wine & spirits.
Among the 143,500 visitors – less than 5,000 were international trade visitors from some 125 countries and regions. However, international trade visitors increased by 47% compared with the previous edition.
HOTELEX is now subdivided into a Hospitality & Finefood expo and Hotel Plus – Total Solutions for Commercial Properties. Hotel Plus was held from 26th to 29th April 2017 also at SNIEC and targeted hotel and tourism infrastructure related products and services. The 2018 edition of HOTELEX Shanghai will take place from 26th to 29th March, again at SNIEC.
