Alibaba aims to help U.S. businesses sell to China

China/USA, 25th April: The Alibaba Group, one of China’s leading e-commerce companies, will launch a conference in Detroit on 20th and 21st June with the objective of helping U.S. businesses to sell their products to consumers in China.

According to the company, as of today, there are approximately 7,000 U.S. businesses on Alibaba’s platform – and most of them are large companies and big name brands. Alibaba wants to increase the number of U.S. business on their platforms to more than one million in the next five years. The emphasis will be placed on attracting U.S. small- and medium-sized businesses.

Alibaba plans to invite some 2,000 U.S. small business owners, entrepreneurs and even farm-owners to the Detroit seminar. Attendees will learn about business opportunities in China. They will also learn about the logistics of distributing and selling in China. In addition, the attendees will also learn about creating and maintaining digital storefronts on Alibaba’s Tmall platform.
